Link Love

It can seem sometimes like everyone is making adaptogen smoothies, going to pilates, and taking flower-petal filled baths. With the constant message that it is essential to practice daily self-care, it came as a welcomed reprieve when someone (read: a post on our Instagram Explore page) gently pointed out that self-care can also mean changing your mind when something doesn't feel right, trusting your own decisions, and taking as much time as you need to process and grow. We hope you will enjoy exploring our self-love links as much as we enjoyed taking the time for ourselves to read, listen, learn, and scrub our lips.

 What We're Reading

We loved this essay on Lenny Letter featuring an excerpt from Cait Flanders' The Year of Less. Deeply relatable, it made us want to trim down our belongings and focus on the less tangible aspects of life.

This beautifully written and illuminating essay offers a glimpse into the nuanced relationship between trans-women and makeup.

What We're Making

Breakfast for dinner? Yes, please! We can't wait to make this asparagus, burrata, and herb pesto frittata for dinner this weekend.

Winter takes a toll on our lips and one of these 30 DIY lip scrubs should help get them back on track. We have our eye on number 10, a mint chocolate coffee scrub.

Drying your nails at home while watching Netflix beats drying in a salon any day. We have Oprah to thank (once again) for these at-home mani tricks and we've been feeling this peachy-orange nail polish from eco-friendly brand, Zoya.

Okay so we haven't actually made one of these ourselves, but we feel good just looking at the beautiful nature altars one artist made every morning to help heal his broken heart.

Bring some green into your home while learning a new skill. If you live in the Portland area, there is still time to sign up for the DIY Mounted Plant Class this Saturday, May 5th.

What We're Listening To

This Ted Talk offers quick, attainable ways to find a few minutes each day to care for yourself mentally and physically.

This frank and open conversation between daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow and mother, Blythe Danner touches on everything from Tinder to forgiveness. It inspired us to ask big questions and listen closely to the woman we love in our own lives.

Meditation is hard. This app makes it easier. It allows you to switch between guided, silent, and timed meditations depending on what you're needing that day.
