At Alima Pure, it is part of Our Commitment to keep the Earth beautiful, too. We work hard to ensure all of our operations are as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. In fact, we continue to look for green alternatives to the standard plastics used in basic cosmetic packaging. That’s why we are so proud to renew our partnership with CarbonFund.org and the B Corporation as part of our continuing efforts to preserve the environment and give back to the community we live in.
Alima Pure is turning nine years old today! We’re so thrilled to be celebrating our special day with our friends, families, and of course, our beloved customers. To honor this big milestone, Kate shared some of her favorite products from our line from over the years.

Recently, we were contacted by Portland-area photographer Diana Sell with an interesting question. She wanted to do a photo shoot for her son's Kindergarten class as an auction project, and needed a little help with the makeup. Now, normally we aren't fans of kindergarteners wearing makeup, but Diana had found an on-line tutorial on how to do deer makeup. Since her son attends Deer Creek school, it seemed like a natural! But the tutorial showed all sorts of makeup that didn't seem like the best things to put on the sensitive skin of young children, so Diana reached out for a little advice.
When you look up the phrase "joie de vivre" in your French-American dictionary, we're just about certain you will find a picture of this months Naturally Gorgeous model, Mary, there alongside the definition. Mary is passionate about life and experiences, and has a serious case of wanderlust! She's equally comfortable hiking up a steep incline, trying a new way of wearing her makeup or moving halfway around the world! Whether you need a partner-in-crime for a night on the town, or someone to help you clean out your closet, Mary is the sort of friend you'd want to have on speed-dial!
Back in May, I had the opportunity to work as the makeup artist on an amazing project. Joni Kabana, an award-winning visual artist and photojournalist, and the woman behind the camera on our Naturally Gorgeous model shoots, was going to be shooting a calendar for a local yoga studio, and needed makeup for the models. Being familiar with my work, and the way that Alima Pure photographs, Joni asked if I would come and help out. The project, she explained, was to spread the word about a series of classes at The Yoga Project, a studio in the Sellwood area of Portland, called “Yoga for The Larger Woman.”
Growing up in Laguna Beach, Liz Dick dreamed of someday having her own boutique in her hometown. In April, her dream came true, and Green Tree Boutique opened its doors to eco-conscious shoppers, and welcomes shoppers of the four-legged variety as well.
