Oxblood, burgundy, wine, maroon, and cranberry... this luscious fall hue goes by many names. One thing is for certain; it's the go-to color this fall. As summer transitions into fall, do you find yourself craving rich colors? We certainly do here at Alima Pure, and pops of cranberry are what we’ve been craving. So, we put our heads together to come up with a few lust-worthy incarnations of this fall favorite.
Back in May, I had the opportunity to work as the makeup artist on an amazing project. Joni Kabana, an award-winning visual artist and photojournalist, and the woman behind the camera on our Naturally Gorgeous model shoots, was going to be shooting a calendar for a local yoga studio, and needed makeup for the models. Being familiar with my work, and the way that Alima Pure photographs, Joni asked if I would come and help out. The project, she explained, was to spread the word about a series of classes at The Yoga Project, a studio in the Sellwood area of Portland, called “Yoga for The Larger Woman.”
Zenabelle is one of Alima Pure's most recently added retailers. Located in Bristol, Rhode Island, Zenabelle came into being when owner Deborah Ventrice found herself needing to make a career change based on her health. Her desire to help others going through similar health issues navigate the confusing world of personal care items led to the creation of this bright, cheerful and very caring space. If you are in the area, stop by and check out Zenabelle!
Naturally Gorgeous Model Julia is a pixie of a woman, with a sparkle in her eye and ready smile. She exudes such a warmth and caring that you just know you could sit down and pour your heart out to her like a trusted maternal figure, but her twinkle clues you in that your comforting session might just end with her sharing a wickedly funny joke. But it is Julia's thoughtfulness and caring that led her to develop The Girl Effect, whose videos we highly recommend you take the time to view.
It's great to be #1 at something, even if that ranking comes with a price. Dailyglow.com recently published a ranking of 55 U.S. cities, analyzed for how good or bad they are for your skin. We're happy to report that Portland, Oregon came out on top!
