Things Our Mothers Taught Us

Alima Pure Founder Kate O'Brien

As many of you know, Kate started Alima Pure in her attic, shortly after her mother passed away. Her agenda was simply to DIY some safe mineral makeup that her then-teenage daughter, Sara, would consider wearing. 12 years later, Sara is our Brand Director, and she and Kate spend their busy days developing the next Alima Pure products (which you are going to love!) and deciding how to put Alima Pure out into the world in the best way possible.

At our core, we’ve always been about honoring the women who teach us to be our best and most confident selves, so we thought we should share some of the sage advice our mothers have shared with us.

"Good riddance to bad rubbish." -Laurel, Production

"Never travel faster than your guardian angel can fly." -Brian, Shipping Manager

"Never eat sushi from a vending machine." -Ashley, Production

"Nothing can turn around a bad day like french fries." -Carson, Customer Care

"Gardening is a great workout!" -Hannah, Makeup Artist

"Falling in love is like getting hit by a truck." -Sarah, Marketing

"My mother always tells me to go outside and take a walk when I'm upset. It breaks the cycle, changes your perspective, and frees one from excessive introspection."-Sara, Brand Director

"My favorite legacy from my mother is kindness. She was always kind and generous, under all circumstances and without fail." -Kate, Founder & CEO

I’m happy to report that Kate follows her mother’s legacy without fail too, and it is indeed the bedrock of working at Alima Pure.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Team Alima!
