We founded Alima based on the premise of minimal ingredients for maximum impact. A few simple, natural ingredients crafted in just the right way can give every woman the power to present her best self to the world with confidence. That’s beauty at its most beautiful.
As we conduct our business, we’re as committed to giving back as we are to the purity of ingredients. Because we believe it’s not how fast you grow, it’s how you grow. Here are the organizations that we proudly support.
Supporting a better way to help solve social and environmental problems through business comes naturally to us. As a proudly certified B Corporation we are dedicated to raising the bar for corporate responsibility. Together, B Corporations have created greater economic opportunity, strengthened local communities and worked to preserve the environment. We encourage you to explore and support all of the great products that have earned certification.
We’ve been a member of 1% for the Planet since our first year in business, donating 1% of our annual gross revenue (sales, not profit) to grassroots environmental organizations dedicated to protecting our planet.
We work hard in all of our operations to be as sustainable as possible. To counterbalance the impact we do make, we offset 100% of our corporate carbon emissions through contributions to carbonfund.org. In 2013 we're celebrating our 5th year of being carbon neutral.
All of our cosmetics are cruelty-free, with certification from the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) Leaping Bunny program to prove it.
Our products are certified natural through the venerable Federation of German Industries and Trading Firms (BDIH). BDIH takes the rigorous European Cosmetic Directive one step further by carefully evaluating the ingredients product seeking certification. BDIH was one of the first organizations to set standards for natural cosmetics, and we feel they are still one of the very best.
Alima Pure is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and is proud to have an A+ rating.
Yes, PETA can be a bit strident sometimes, but we do share their passion for animals. Our products are cruelty-free, and most of our products (including our brushes) are vegan. The only exception is a bit of beeswax in our lipbalms.
