Are you new to mineral cosmetics? Here are a few tips that will help you adjust to the process more quickly, and they work for all the products. Keep these things in mind as you begin your adventure!

Skin should be prepped. Apply moisturizer and allow it to fully absorb before you apply minerals. Keep in mind that liquid foundation adds some moisture to your skin, and Alima Pure contains only minerals, so if you haven't used moisturizer before, you might need to start; and if you have dry skin, you might need a slightly more intense moisturizer.

Tools can make a difference. While we don't push you to invest in new brushes to start out, a good brush of some sort is critical. And because your foundation brush will be in much more contact with the skin than any brush ever was when you were using conventional cosmetics, consider brushes made with taklon bristles. They are softer and more gentle than animal hair, especially for sensitive skin; and they are guaranteed cruelty-free!

Less is more. It is so much easier to add a bit more color than it is to take off too much! Pick up a little color on your brush and then work it in to the bristles, which means to swirl or tap the bristles in a lid or dish until the product isn't just sitting at the tip of the brush. Then apply, remembering that even though you can't see it, there is still product in the bristles. Step back, take a look and apply more if you wish.
