To create a gorgeous, natural makeup look for summer like Karen Elson's, start with the Satin Matte Foundation that matches your skin tone. If you haven’t found your match yet, you might want to use our Foundation Selector. To keep your look dewy and light, try mixing your foundation with some of your moisturizer in the palm of your hand and apply as you would a liquid foundation. If you prefer to use your foundation dry, sweep a little Lumina Luminous Shimmer Powder across your cheekbones and forehead.
For a natural flush, Satin Matte Blush in Pink on the apples of the cheeks works for almost every skin tone. Then using the #37 Eye Blending Brush, sweep a little Pearluster Eyeshadow in Champagne on your lids. Using the #33 Angle Liner Brush, line eyes with Pewter Satin Matte Eyeliner. Dampen your brush for a defined look, and then smudge a bit of dry powder around the edges of the liner.
To complete the look, groom your brows, apply a coat or two of black mascara, and sweep Sweet Pea Nourishing Lipbalm on to your lips. Voila, you are ready for a day at the beach or a night on the red carpet!

For movies and television, Awards Season begins sometime in November and wraps up in late February with the Academy Awards. During this window of time, it seems as if Alima Pure has been getting a little love from press and bloggers, so we thought we would take a quick look back at the awards and mentions that we have received in the latter part of 2012 and early 2013. With holidays, flash sales and facebook contests, we weren't able to devote as much attention to some of these as we normally would, and so now we'd like to take a moment to show our appreciation for the recognition. Maybe we haven't won as many awards as Anne Hathaway will this season, but we are still pretty proud of our products!
We had been thrilled to win several Organic Beauty Talk awards in 2011, and for 2012 they changed the format of the awards and gave the awards to brands, rather than for specific product categories. We were honored to be selected as the Best Natural Mineral Makeup Line, and even more so because the 2012 awards took into account reader's opinions of the products!
In December, we found out that we made the Healthy Holistic Living's Top 100 Green Products for 2012 list. According to Healthy Holistic Living, Alima Pure is "hands down one of the best all natural, chemical free cosmetics on the market today."
did say that although the Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadows are probably her favorite Alima Pure product, she also loves our blush and foundation.
In January, we have been singled out three times. The Detox Diva picked Alima Pure for the Top 10 Beauty category of her Detox Diva Awards 2012. She mentioned our Bronzer, Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadows and Organic Nourishing Lipbalm as favorites from the line. Storybook Apothecary chose our Satin Matte Foundation as best Powder Foundation, and our holiday collection Black Tie Gala - Eyes as best Eyeshadow for her "The Best Makeup of 2012" round-up. And Luckymag.com named us one of The Best Natural Beauty Products, calling out our Satin Matte Foundation and saying, "Many mineral-based products claim to be all-natural, but this one is truly safe on your skin."
What awards show would be complete without a speech? We would like to thank all of the bloggers, magazines and websites that have taken the time to get to know our products and to introduce them to a larger audience. But mostly, we want to thank you, the Alima Pure customer, for the inspiration you give us and for making us a part of your life. We are honored that you chose us.
If you have ever wished that there were an easy way to introduce someone that you care about to Alima Pure cosmetics, we have just the thing for you! We know buying a foundation for a loved one can be a tricky proposition, but who doesn't love to receive a gift of color? With three of our best-selling shades in three of our customer-favorite products, we think these sets will make it easy to convince your friends and family to ditch the chemical-filled products and join you in appreciating the beauty of natural makeup!
The Natural Beauty Warm set includes our popular Satin Matte Blush in Carnation, an earthy pink; Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in Chai, a constant best-seller; and Organic Nourishing Lipbalm in Mango, a warm pink that brings brightness to a wintertime palette.
The Natural Beauty Cool set includes best-selling Satin Matte Blush in Antique Rose, a soft red that works for almost everyone; Pearluster Eyeshadow in Taupe, a soft neutral that creates a polished look; and Organic Nourishing Lipbalm in Fig, a bronzed plum that won't overpower your lips.
Individually, the products in these sets would retail for $39.50, but through the holidays they are value priced at only $30 each. But best of all, these sets are a perfect to prove to skeptics that natural cosmetics can be gorgeous!
December may just be the most difficult month to take care of yourself. Because we know most of our customers are spending the month thinking of (and doing things for) others, we want to give you a little treat. We have created a beautiful, limited edition shade of our popular Organic Nourishing Lipbalm...Quince! Now you may be wondering, "why did they make a yellow lip balm?" But Quince is not the color of the quince fruit, but the Quince flower. A delicious, bright red, with a slight hint of sparkle, Quince is brighter than Holly Berry and more red than Sweet Pea.
Oxblood, burgundy, wine, maroon, and cranberry... this luscious fall hue goes by many names. One thing is for certain; it's the go-to color this fall. As summer transitions into fall, do you find yourself craving rich colors? We certainly do here at Alima Pure, and pops of cranberry are what we’ve been craving. So, we put our heads together to come up with a few lust-worthy incarnations of this fall favorite.
