Alima Pure Staff Favorites

Amira has worked at Alima Pure since she was in high school, when she came after class to make samples.  Now she's full-time and one of the people who you can ask just about any Alima question, and she'll know the answer!

In this photo Amira is wearing her foundation, Beige 3.  Her favorite blush is Satin Matte Blushes in Pink.

On her lids, we used her (current) favorite shadows, Luminous Shimmer Shadows in Mink as a base, from lashes to brows, Black Orchid on the lid and Ombra as a liner.  We added a touch of Raven to her brows.

Several years ago, we did a special gift of a limited edition lip color, Sweet Pea.  Amira loved it so much, she made a case for us to make the shade permanent when we launched our new Organic Nourshing Lip Balms.  So naturally, she's wearing Sweet Pea in the photo!

So many colors, but only two lips!

We hope you are as in love with our wonderful new Organic Nourishing Lip Balm as we are! The fabulous formula is loaded with anti-oxidants, and every ingredient except the pure mineral pigments is organically grown.

We understand that selecting tinted lip balm shades can be a bit daunting when you can’t see them in person, so with that in mind, we have written some descriptions to help you choose your shade. Keep in mind that all of these are, after all, lip balms, so they are sheer and a bit shiny.

Acai – our lightest shade, a shimmery light pink, but without a hint of “Barbie” to it. It has just enough warmth to complement anyone with fair skin, who just wants a hint of color.

Rhubarb – our truest pink, without any shimmer. If you love Satin Matte Blush in Pink, you will love Rhubarb. When you want a hint of pink, Rhubarb is your secret weapon. (It’s also a favorite of International Makeup Artist and Green Beauty Team founder, Kristen Arnett!)

Mango – a peachy-coral with shimmer that is a beautiful compliment to a tan. Mango is our warmest shade, and has enough color to give a nice pop of brightness.

Sweet Pea – the newest shade to join the family, Sweet Pea is very similar to Rhubarb but with a hint of shimmer. If you’re looking for the perfect “Kate Middleton wedding lip,” give Sweet Pea a try!

Fig – this customer favorite almost defies description. How can a color be both warm and cool at the same time? We’re not quite sure, but this cool, plum base with coppery shimmer looks good on just about everyone. As one of our darker shades, this offers the look of a sheer lipstick.

Holly Berry – a soft red with a hint of brown, Holly Berry is another darker shade. You can definitely tell you’ve put it on, but without having that super “done-up” look. Yes, you’re just naturally that gorgeous!

Cranberry – the grande dame of the collection, Cranberry can almost pass for a lipstick. But of course, she doesn’t want to…she loves being soothing and nourishing while still providing lipstick-like coverage. A browned-red, Cranberry looks beautiful on medium to dark skins, and striking on fair skins.

New Nourishing Lipbalm is coming...

...but the Sneak Peek is here now!

We have been working on a new lip balm formula for some time now. We outgrew our previous production method quite a while ago, but we didn't want to unveil our new formula until we had a beautiful product in beautiful packaging to offer to our customers. Eureka! I think we've got it!

Our new lip balm is rich in anti-oxidants like Pomegranate Seed and White Tea extracts, and includes Peppermint Oil for a nice pick-me-up.  All of the ingredients except the mineral pigments are organic, and everyone who has tried them has raved about the new formula.  Our beautiful new slim tubes are easier to apply, and so much more elegant in your makeup bag.  We think you'll find them a nice upgrade on all counts.

To get your Sneak Peek of this great new lip balm just place an order over $10 (before shipping) between March 31 and April 3 (offer good while supplies last) and we'll send you a lab sample of the new lip balm in Natural (untinted).  These samples are not the final formula, which will be slightly less minty and soft, but the adjustments will be minor.  We hope you love the new formula!

Happy Holidays from Alima Pure to you!

Posted on November 30, 2008 by terresa | 3 Comments

We may be biased, but we think Alima Pure has the absolute best customers in the world!  (And you come to us from all around the world!)  We want to thank you this holiday season with a little present or two.

First, every order placed between November 27th and December 25th will receive a lovely little holiday "Kiss Stick," in a beautiful soft red shade that looks good on everyone.  Although it isn't nearly as bright as one, we've named this pretty little shade "Holly Berry" in honor of the season.  This Kiss Stick isn't the same formula as the ones we featured last holiday season, but instead a glossier version of our regular lip balms. We would love to hear how you feel about the formula when you try it!

Second, every order over $50 (before shipping and after any discounts) between now and December 25 will receive a "Best of 2008" set of samples.  This package includes deluxe samples of nine of the most popular eye shadows from our special collections released in 2008.  The samples come in our cute little bird-topped sample jars, but are generously filled to last you much longer than a regular sample.

The shades in this set are

  • Bondi, a light, shimmering sand
  • Cosmo, a bright sparkling purple
  • Merino, a shimmering light blue laced with gold
  • Daiquiri, an earthy pink with more subtle shimmer
  • Aphrodite, a shimmering medium brown
  • Aroa, a vivid, sparkling gold
  • Antique Gold, a tarnished sparkly gold
  • Thames, a shimmering dark silver
  • Pashmina, a black with gold sparkles that makes a beautiful liner.

Thank you for a wonderful 2008, here's to a beautiful 2009!
