By Night Fall Collection: Get the Look with Labyrinth

Posted on September 03, 2014 by Kate OBrien | 0 Comments

The By Night fall collection is here! We’ve created five limited edition eyeshadows to add drama to your look this fall. Inspired by film noir, each shade beautifully captures the light and adds mystery to the eyes with just a simple wash of color. As always, each of these vibrant eyeshadows provides intensity using just three natural ingredients.

Each shadow is unique and can be simply worn on its own or combined for a day or amped up nighttime look. Each week we will show you how to ‘get the look’ with each of the eyeshadows. This week is all about Labyrinth which is a glowing, sultry deep sea green.

1. Begin with freshly cleansed and moisturized skin. Apply Satin Matte Foundation in your perfect shade with a #25 Foundation Brush. Our lovely model Ashley is wearing Warm 2 Satin Matte Foundation.

2. To add definition to you cheekbones, apply Sombra Contour Powder into the hollows of your cheekbones with a #7 Half Moon Brush.

3.  Apply a touch of Mimosa Satin Matte Blush the apples of your cheeks and blend to your temples for a natural flush with a #17 Blush Brush. This blends well with Sombra Contour Powder and lifts the cheeks while adding a hint of sweetness to your look.

4. For a gorgeous glow, use your #23 Kitten Brush to apply Lumina Highlighter on the tops of your cheek bones, down the bridge of the nose and with your finger pop it right onto the cupids bow.

5. Wet your #35 Eye Detail Brush and liberally apply Labyrinth Pearluster Eyeshadow all over the base of your lid and up to the crease (never going above the crease). Wetting the brush intensifies the eyeshadow into a vibrant sultry blue green.

6.  Once Labyrinth Pearluster Eyeshadow is somewhat dry, go ahead and blend it out  with your #37 Blending Brush to avoid any unwanted unevenness.

7. With your Coffee Natural Definition Eye Pencil line your lashes and use your #33 Angle/Liner Brush to smudge out for softness.

8.  Sweep on a coat or two of Natural Definition Mascara in Brown. This richly pigmented formula will neatly define your lashes and complement the deep sea green eyeshadow.

9.  Dab on Sweet Pea Lip Tint for gorgeous neutral pink lips.

Get the Look: Gaia Spring Collection

Posted on March 12, 2014 by Alyson Hancock | 0 Comments

Greek mythology tells us that out of Chaos Gaia was born.  As the creator of the universe she is mother earth, and everything that exists in the world originates from her.  Gaia represents strength, power, creation, and maternal nurturing.  Inspired by this, we created a collection of strong earth tones.  Our Gaia Collection features two Limited Edition Eyeshadows, and our all new Limited Edition Radiant Finishing Powder. The eyeshadow in Chaos is a fiery copper, Celestial eyeshadow is a deep blacked gold, and Radiant Finishing Powder in Sacred is a soft glowing peach.  Together these shades create a strong and enchanting look.  Follow these simple steps to achieve this powerful look:

1. Start by applying a sheer layer of Satin Matte Foundation (Sara’s shade is Warm 1) using the #25 Foundation Brush.

2. With the #17 Blush Brush add just a touch of Satin Matte Blush in Carnation to the apples of the cheeks.

3. Lightly dust Radiant Finishing Powder in Sacred along the forehead, cheekbone and jawline; as you would with a bronzer or highlighter.  The #23 Kitten Brush is the perfect tool for the job, this way you will get a sheer glowing application.

4. With the #37 Eye Blending Brush sweep the Sacred Radiant Finishing Powder from the lash line to brow bone. This acts as a nice base and brow bone highlight.

5. Pick up a small amount of Chaos on the #39 Large Shadow Brush. Then work the shadow into the bristles, spritz with water, and pat the shadow onto your lid and into the crease.

6. Dampen your  #33 Angle Liner Brush with water and blend with Celestial to create a liquid liner.  Apply Celestial to the upper and lower lash line for intense definition.  Bring the line as close to your lashes as possible..  Extend the liner slightly past your natural lash line and wing it up for an eye widening effect.

7..  With the #36 Pointed Crease Brush blend (dry) Celestial along your crease, but concentrate the color along your outer crease.

8. Coat your lashes with several layers of Natural Definition Mascara in Black to add drama.

9. Finish the look with Rhubarb Lip Tint to moisturize and enhance your natural lip color.

Posted on February 27, 2014 by Alyson | 0 Comments

Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes new life and color.  Fresh for Spring is Orchid Pearluster Eyeshadow - the perfect shade to introduce a bit vibrancy in to your look.  Orchid complements virtually every skin tone and eye color, and it pairs beautifully with our In Bloom Collection. Here is how you can get the look:

orchidmodel

To start, Rachel is wearing our Satin Matte Foundation in Warm 1, applied with the #25 Foundation Brush  and #3 Concealer Brush.  For a soft finish, we applied a light layer of the Satin Matte Finishing Powder in Keiko.  We then applied Limited Edition Luminous Shimmer Blush in Lily onto the apples of her cheeks with the #17 Blush Brush.

  1. To begin the eye makeup, we applied Pearluster Eyeshadow in Silk with the #37 Eye Blending Brush as a highlighter on Rachel’s brow bone and cheek bone.
  2. We used our Limited Edition Eyeshadow in Pansy to line the upper lash line with with our #35 Eye Detail Brush.  A thin line adds just enough definition to the lash line without adding too much depth to the entire look.
  3. Using our #39 Large Shadow Brush we worked a small amount of Pearluster Eyeshadow in Orchid into the bristles of the brush, and patted it onto Rachel’s lid.  You can apply multiple layers to build coverage. Blend well from the lash line into the crease.
  4. For a bit drama we worked Orchid along the lower lash line using the  #33 Angle Liner Brush.
  5. With the #37 Eye Blending Brush we lightly swept  the Limited Edition Eyeshadow in Jasmine from the inner corner of the lid up along the  crease. For a little extra sparkle you could also use our Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in Leone.  We finished Rachel’s look with Natural Definition Mascara in Black and the our Lip Tint in Rhubarb.

Follow these simple steps for a fresh radiant look. Have fun, play, be your naturally gorgeous self!
