Back in May, I had the opportunity to work as the makeup artist on an amazing project. Joni Kabana, an award-winning visual artist and photojournalist, and the woman behind the camera on our Naturally Gorgeous model shoots, was going to be shooting a calendar for a local yoga studio, and needed makeup for the models. Being familiar with my work, and the way that Alima Pure photographs, Joni asked if I would come and help out. The project, she explained, was to spread the word about a series of classes at The Yoga Project, a studio in the Sellwood area of Portland, called “Yoga for The Larger Woman.”
If you are thinking of trying an Alima Pure brush for your mineral eyeliner, you've probably noticed, we have two different versions. The #31 Fine Liner Brush is a pointed shape (and also excellent for spot concealing), while the #33 Angle Liner Brush (which is also great for filling in brows) is flat and angled. So how does one decide between the two?
Naturally Gorgeous Model Julia is a pixie of a woman, with a sparkle in her eye and ready smile. She exudes such a warmth and caring that you just know you could sit down and pour your heart out to her like a trusted maternal figure, but her twinkle clues you in that your comforting session might just end with her sharing a wickedly funny joke. But it is Julia's thoughtfulness and caring that led her to develop The Girl Effect, whose videos we highly recommend you take the time to view.
By popular request, we have applied The Hamptons Eyeshadow Collection to Alima Pure staffer Candice, following the directions for the Summer Romance look. The Hamptons will be available for sale for several more weeks, but don't delay-- just like your summer rental, it will be gone by Fall!
Our Naturally Gorgeous model, Karen, lights up a room with her smile. She’s a tiny bundle of energy, but also exudes a zen-like calm. It is easy to see why her friends and family are devoted to, and just a little bit in awe of her.
Next up for our 3 for $30 Eyeshadow sets is the Daring! for Blue Eyes set. This collection features bright golds that contrast with blue eyes and really put them on display! For our model this time, we selected Amanda, whose blue-grey eyes are already a beautiful contrast to her dark, glossy hair.
We love this fresh and romantic look that Elizabeth Olsen wore so effortlessly at this year’s Independent Spirit Awards. Peachy pink cheeks and rose golden eyes are simple and perfect for a spring evening out on the town.
