Runway Trend: Butterscotch Beauties

We are loving this buttery tan eyeshadow runway trend that swept the fashion shows this past month. Designers like Edun, Jason Wu and Chloe all created a whimsical “sunset” eye look that adds warmth and depth to the eyes. Here are two simple tutorials to achieve this gorgeous and wearable look.

To recreate this ethereal Jason Wu look (upper left image), start with the Satin Matte Foundation that matches your skin tone with a #25 Foundation Brush. To keep your skin looking dewy and light, try mixing your foundation with your favorite moisturizer or coconut oil in the palm of your hand and apply as you would a liquid foundation. Then, highlight the tops of cheekbones with Whisper Luminous Shimmer Powder.  From the tops of the cheekbones, curve the Whisper up and around the edge of the brow, finishing on the temples.

Apply Chai Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow all over your lids up to the brow with a Large Shadow Brush. Next, sweep Toffee Pearluster Eyeshadow on the lid extending slightly above the lid and beyond the outer corner. Finish with two coats of Black Natural Definition Mascara.

This Chloe runway look (bottom right image) was a bit more polished with a matte finish. Start by applying Satin Matte Foundation in your desired shade with a #15 Flat Top Foundation Brush to create a full coverage look.  Next, pop a small amount of Carnation Satin Matte Blush to the apples of your cheeks with a #17 Blush Brush.

For strong brows, take a #33 Angle Liner Brush/Brow Brush to apply Mahogany Satin Matte Eyeshadow in short strokes to fill in your desired brow shape. Next, apply Champagne Pearluster Eyeshadow from lash to brow with the Large Shadow Brush. Next, sweep Camel Pearluster Eyeshadow into the crease and upper and lower lash lines to create coppery shadow and depth. For more intensity, line the eyes with Espresso Satin Matte Eyeliner with the Angle Liner/Brow Brush. Finish with a single coat of Brown Natural Definition Mascara.
