Get The Look: Lupita Nyong’o’s Radiant Golden Globes Makeup Look

What was your favorite Red Carpet Look from Sunday’s Golden Globes? Were you wowed by Drew Barrymore’s petal-covered maternity dress? In awe of Kate Beckinsale’s metallic mermaid? Well, we’ll leave the fashion critiques to Joan and the Fashion Police, but we thought one of the most gorgeous head-to-toe looks on the carpet belonged to newcomer Lupita Nyong’o, nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in “12 Years a Slave.”

Lupita was radiant in a red, caped gown from Ralph Lauren, and her makeup was every bit as flawless as that stunning dress. Here’s how to create her makeup look using all Alima Pure mineral makeup.

Begin by applying your Satin Matte Foundation over the entire face with your #25 Foundation Brush. We estimate that Nyong’o would wear Cool 7, so if you have similar coloring, definitely give that shade a try. Highlight the apples of cheeks with Satin Matte Blush in Geranium.

Fill in brows with a shade that matches your hair with the #33 Angle Liner Brush.  (We think Lupita would use our Satin Matte Eyeliner in Black.) Then with the #37 Eye Blending Brush, apply Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in Leone into the crease and blend it upwards. Follow that with Smoke Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow from the lash-line to the crease using the #39 Large Shadow Brush. Using the #31 Fine Liner Brush, also apply Smoke below the lower lash line. Use the #33 Angle Liner and Black Eyeliner with a spritz of water to apply liner to upper and lower lashlines.  Be sure to get the line very close to, or even in between the lashes. Finish the eyes with several coats of our Natural Definition Mascara in Black.

Complete the look with a light dusting of your shade of Satin Finishing Powder on the #23 Kitten Brush. We would suggest Takara for Lupita. Then slick on a layer of Lip Tint in Fig, and you’re ready to face the fashion critics!
